Research and Teaching Interests
I teach graduate students in psychology and law students on topics involving child abuse and neglect, high conflict divorce and the lot of children within the legal system. Most of my academic time is now spent giving interdisciplinary presentations to judges, attorneys and mental health professionals at state, national and international meetings. The topics of these talks include: the current problems in the foster care system in Michigan; improving the situation of young children in foster care and in high conflict divorce; and working with personality disordered parents in high conflict divorce. My most recent writing includes:
Ludolph, P.S. (in press). Child custody evaluation. In E.P. Benedek, P. Ash, & C.L. Scott (Eds.), Principles and practice of child and adolescent forensic mental health. Washington, DC: American Psychiatric Publishing.
Ludolph. P.S. (2009). Answered and unanswered questions in attachment theory with implications for children of divorce. Journal of Child Custody, 6, 1-16.
Ludolph, P.S. (2008). Psychological evaluation and report on Dwayne B. and Lisa J. As part of the class action lawsuit brought by Children's Rights, New York, New York, in Federal Court, Detroit, Michigan, against the State of Michigan (Dwayne B. v. Granholm). (The named class was the children in Foster Care in the State of Michigan. A settlement of 400 million dollars was reached before trial.)
