Dr. Jacinta Beehner received her B.S. degree from the Department of Biology at Boston College. She then went on to complete her Master’s and Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology at Washington University working with Dr. Jane Phillips-Conroy. Her thesis research was conducted on a population of hybrid baboons in the field (The Awash National Park of Ethiopia) investigating the reproductive success of hybrid females. She conducted the hormone component of her thesis research under Dr. Patricia Whitten at Emory University. After conducting two postdoctoral fellowships—one at the University of Pennsylvania with Drs. Dorothy Cheney and Robert Seyfarth and one at Princeton University with Dr. Jeanne Altmann—she joined the Departments of Anthropology and Psychology at the University of Michigan as an assistant faculty member.

Sonali Mohanty is the Core Assay Facility Laboratory Manager/Technician. Sonali received her Bachelor of Engineering degree with distinction in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from A.K. College of Engineering, India. She received her Master’s of Science degree in Bioscience and Biotechnology from Drexel University, Philadelphia in 2007. During her master’s degree program, her primary focus was to study the relationship between metabolism, hormones and immunological changes in influenza virus infected mice and non-infected mice. Sonali specialized in different techniques used in immunology, biochemistry and statistical analysis.
