THE AL CAIN HONORS TRAVEL AWARD

This award was established in honor of Dr. Albert Cain, the director of the Honors Program in Psychology at the University of Michigan from 1995 to 2002. Any honors student completing or planning to complete an honors thesis in Psychology, BCN or Neuroscience (Psych mentor)  is eligible for this award. The $250 award is to assist with the expenses associated with presenting some portion of the honors thesis research at a major regional (e.g., Midwestern Psychological Association) or national (e.g., APA, APS, SRCD) scientific/professional conference. The presentation can consist of either a paper presented during a panel discussion, symposium or a poster presentation. The student must actually be the presenter of the thesis research, whether it is as a single author or as a jointly authored paper. The award can be used to offset costs for transportation, lodging and registration fees to attend the conference. Students must verify that their honors research has been accepted for presentation before any award funds will be distributed. All applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the Committee for Undergraduate Studies.
