ADDING A CLASS

The Psychology Undergraduate office is providing the following information to help you as you register for Psychology classes.

IMPORTANT

IT IS CRITICAL THAT STUDENTS ATTEND CLASSES FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE TERM. EVEN THOUGH STUDENTS MAY BE REGISTERED OFFICIALLY FOR A COURSE, THE DEPARTMENT MAY REQUEST THAT THEY BE DISENROLLED IF THEY DO NOT ATTEND CLASS BY THE END OF THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES.

If you are enrolled in the class on the first day of the term, go to the first class session. The Psychology department expects that discussion sections will meet even if they are scheduled before the first lecture, so make sure that you don’t miss them.

Closed Sections
Watch Wolverine Access for open seats. Many seats will open up between the end of priority registration and the first day of classes.

Some instructors have provided information on how to register for the class. In many cases, students who are not able to register are instructed to attend the first few meetings of class. For classes with discussion sections, inquiries should be directed toward the Graduate Student Instructor (GSI). If the GSI is not listed for the section, continue to check the class listing on Wolverine Access; the GSI will be listed soon.

Psychology instructors usually discuss enrollment policies on the first day of class. Students who have attended class from the beginning of the term frequently get priority. Instructors set their own policy on over enrollment, permission to register, and waitlist priority. Permission to register may be given first to seniors, or to declared Psychology and Brain Behavior & Cognitive Sciences concentrators. Most instructors accommodate as many students as the teaching format and room assignment make possible.
