Study Abroad
For UM Psych students: Studying abroad will provide an opportunity to understand how the sociocultural ethos of various countries shapes the pedagogical as well as the theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of psychology.
UM CGIS Programs
- Michigan Global Academic Programs(study abroad): Educational opportunities are categorized into exchange programs at institutions where students take university-level courses with locals or in programs structured specifically for a variety of American university students.
- Global Intercultural Experience (GIEU): creates new opportunities for short-term (3 or 4 week) intercultural study of a global nature at field sites, both domestic and abroad.
- Spring/Summer Language Study: Students deepen their comfort and fluency in a non-English language through direct immersion as they live with host families and/or participate in internship/volunteer placements.
- Global Course Connections: Students enroll for selected courses on campus and then travel (2-4 weeks) with classmates to a field site where they can put into practice what they have learned.
Non-UM Programs
- Princeton Review- Study Abroad: provides a lot of information on programs by country, non-UM programs, why study abroad, advice on choosing between programs, safety abroad, quiz and more!
- CEA: CEA Global Education offers more than 100 academic programs in 24 cities and 14 countries worldwide. We offer academic year, semester, summer, short-term, Maymester and January-term sessions to fit your school's calendar, as well as courses representing a variety of majors and disciplines.
- IES: With more than 90 programs in 32 cities, IES Abroad is dedicated to broadening our global reach and continuing our commitment to offering students outstanding academic options coupled with every-day opportunities for cultural immersion.
- ISA: International Studies Abroad is a study abroad provider with 16 destination countries that encompass 33 distinct and exciting cities. Working closely with the host universities abroad, ISA and LPI provide students with a study abroad experience that is academically challenging and culturally rewarding.
