Human Rights Through Education (HRTE) is a student-founded, student-led organization at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. HRTE seeks to foster a campus culture of respect and awareness for human rights through a variety of educational events and channels in hopes of preparing advocates of the future and supporting advocates of the present.
“Human Rights Held Captive: Perspectives on the Justice System,” follows seven years of successful conferences that have grappled with issues such as the right to education, the right to health, the role of art in human rights activism, and the union of civil and human rights.
The conference will take place Thursday, Feb. 7th - Saturday, Feb. 9th.
