Internship Opportunities
Many RC students do summer internships to get a taste of what a certain field or organization might be like. The internship experience can vary widely, so it's important to do plenty of research during your search process.
Where can you find an internship?
UM International Center has information on international internships.
UM Career Center can provide some assistance with internships in general.
RC Connect can put you in touch with hundreds of RC Alumni. Go to RC Connect and create your profile. You will see that this is a private social networking site just for RC students, alumni, staff and faculty. Browse around RC Connect and see the various groups that alumni and students have formed. Feel free to post questions or inquiries to any of these groups.
Is there any funding for internships?
Yes. If you have applied for and been offered an unpaid or low-paying internship, you may be eligible for scholarship funds through the RC. Each year, the RC allocates funds to help several students cover travel, living, or other expenses during their internships and research. Check the ctools RC Academic Services area for information about the Donald & June Brown Students in the World Fund. Contact Cynthia Burton (caburton@umich.edu) for more information about these need-based scholarships.
