Lucille Bryant Wilson Endowment Established

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL) is very pleased to announce the establishment of the Lucille Bryant Wilson Fund, made possible by the generosity of Kathleen Wilson-Thompson and Donald Thompson.

The Lucille Bryant Wilson Fund was established in memory of Lucille Wilson Bryant, who concentrated in French and graduated in 1951. This fund will be used for the Lucille Bryant Wilson Study Abroad Scholarship and will be open to both declared concentrators and minors in RLL that have been accepted into a study abroad program.

Currently, RLL offers five different study abroad scholarships, but the need is still greater than RLL’s resources. The Lucille Bryant Wilson Study Abroad Scholarship will help RLL offer more support to students who might otherwise be unable to afford the costs of study abroad. It also helps support UM’s overall commitment to “the internationalization of all of our undergraduate students as it is essential that students develop the tools to excel in an international academic, professional and social world.”
