When combined with study in another field, knowledge of a Romance language will open doors to a wide variety of career and educational opportunities. Today, learning of other languages, peoples, and cultures is not only useful, it is imperative. The Department offers concentrations and minors in French, Italian, and Spanish. We remind you that you may concentrate or minor in a Romance language, but not both. The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures is pleased to announce the reinstatement of the Spanish Minor. Please see the webpage for Spanish concentrators and minors for more information about the new requirements for the minor. We're glad you've chosen to dedicate a portion of your time here at U-M to a Romance language, and we're here to offer support and provide any information you may need.
