The concentration in Italian provides you with advanced preparation in a foreign language combined with a familiarity with Italy's culture, film, and cities. You may also earn three credits through a cognate course in the fields of history, art history, music, classics, political science, film, and others.

If you are majoring in another field, the Italian minor offers you an opportunity to complement the knowledge gained in your principal field while focusing on linguistic competence and a grounding in one of the world's most historically influential, currently vibrant literatures and cultures.

If you need to learn the language, but still wish to pursue a concentration or minor, we encourage you to explore your options through the Italian fast track (PDF).
