You should consult a concentration advisor to develop a balanced program of study that includes the cultural production of various countries and historical periods.

Concentration Prerequisites

• SP 275 and 276
• Both Spanish 275 and 276 will be waived if you are a Residential College student who completed one RCLANG 324 readings course in Spanish. If you complete a second RCLANG 324 course, you will receive concentration credit for a Spanish elective at the 300 level.
  
  

Concentration Requirements (revised in Fall 2002)

• 30 approved credits of courses in Spanish at the 300 and 400 level (10 courses).
• At least 12 credits (4 courses) at the 300 level. 
• Of the 12 credits required at the 300 level, the concentration must include 6 credits of literature at the 300 level (2 courses).  Please click here for a list of courses that meet the literature requirement.
• At least 15 credits (5 courses) at the 400 level.
• Of the 15 credits required at the 400 level, the concentration must include 6 credits of literature at the 400 level (2 courses).  Please click here for a list of courses that meet the literature requirement.
• It is possible to take your third 300-level course concurrently with your first 400-level course.
• One cognate course (3 credits), taught in English may be counted toward the Spanish concentration.  Please click here for a list of approved cognate courses.
