RLL elementary language courses are set up with Wolverine Access wait lists. Students should enroll or wait list in the section they can attend and really want to be in. Students can attend as many sections as they would like as long as they follow the Attendance Policy (see "Attendance Policy" below). If a student registered in one section, but attended another section, the student will be dropped from the enrolled section and only considered for the section attended. There is no advantage to holding a spot in a section that you can't attend.

STUDENTS: PLEASE REGISTER FOR A WAITLIST IF A SECTION IS FULL. WAITLIST POSITION WILL GIVE STUDENTS PRIORITY WHEN OPENINGS OCCUR.

RLL instructors take attendance during the first week of class. They report attendance of all students who attend their class (those enrolled, on the wait list, or just hoping to get in) to staff in the RLL main office. Overrides will be managed centrally and granted based primarily upon availability in a given section, student attendance during the first days of the term, and a student's position on the waitlist.

Students will be notified via e-mail when an override is processed. Students who are not placed should contact the RLL main office where staff will meet one-on-one with students to see if there is an opening in another section which a student can attend.

If a student wishes to switch sections from one they are enrolled in to a section they prefer, they must contact the RLL main office. Staff will work individually with students to see if such a switch is possible, but the department's first priority is to place students on the waitlist. After these students are placed consideration is given to students who wish to switch sections.

If you have any questions, you may contact us at 734-764-5344 or rll.undergrad@umich.edu.

If you have been unable to secure the class you need by the end of the first week, please contact the Undergraduate Assistant.

ALL RLL CLASSES ARE CLOSED TO ENROLLMENT ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS EXCEPT BY OVERRIDE. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO SEE A SPOT AVAILABLE ON WOLVERINE ACCESS, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REGISTER FOR THAT CLASS WITHOUT AN OVERRIDE ISSUED BY THE RLL MAIN OFFICE.

If you miss either of the first two meetings of a language class, you may be dropped for non-attendance. You may also be dropped from a class if you do not meet the prerequisites for that course (see grade needed to advance and placement tests).
