| Spanish Club
The Spanish Club at the University of Michigan offers excellent resources for students interested in Spanish. By consistently taking advantage of these, students can significantly improve in writing, speaking, and reading Spanish. On behalf of the Spanish Club executive board, we would like to inform you about them. Please make this information available to your students. And more importantly, please encourage them to take advantage of these resources.
This year especially, we are trying to provide students with as many opportunities involving the Spanish language and culture as possible. If there are any events or other resources that you feel would be beneficial or enjoyable for members of the club, please let us know so that we can pass the information along. For more information, or to reach Spanish Club board members, please email Annette Hauswirth at ettenna@umich.edu or Angela Hanchar at ahanchar@umich.edu.
Fall 2009
* Free tutoring during the Fall term
Mondays-Thursdays 1-4pm in the Language Resource Center
Students of all levels of Spanish capabilities are welcome to participate. They can receive help from advanced students of Spanish in essays, written assignments, reading materials, etc. Tutors are also needed, if students are interested in the opportunity to help others.
* Conversation Hours: Every Tuesday, 7-8pm, at Espresso Royale on State St. Students of all levels of speaking abilities chat in Spanish about any topic of their choice. The sessions are conducted in a casual, peer-led and comfortable atmosphere. Students usually gain vocabulary, meet other students with an interest in Spanish, and become increasingly comfortable with conversing in Spanish. This is an excellent way to practice materials learned in classes.
