mmerse yourself in a foreign
language and culture – travel abroad! We encourage you to explore the many terrific study-abroad opportunities available to you during your career at U-M. Regardless of your field, you should start with the Office of International Programs to get assistance in selecting a program that best fits your needs.

Our department's role in the study-abroad process is to assist Romance Languages concentrators and minors in selecting appropriate programs and courses that will meet their degree requirements. If you wish to take a course numbered 101-232 abroad, please contact the appropriate Language Director.

In addition, our department offers Vincenti Scholarships to declared concentrators in French, Italian, and Spanish who apply and qualify for the award. Applications are accepted twice a year. These scholarships are specifically for semester or academic year U-M study abroad programs. Vincenti Scholarships are awarded before a student begins their study abroad program. Students already studying abroad will not be considered.

If you are not pursuing a degree in our department, you should visit with an advisor in your home program for assistance.
