It is important to be aware of the course requirements of your concentration or minor and choose courses accordingly. Before you make your selections, consider how many upper-level courses you have already taken and how many you will still need.

Remember, you must make an official appointment with an advisor (764-5344 or 4108 MLB) before you depart to discuss courses and possible credit to be received from your study-abroad program (study-abroad advising). While the courses you select are likely to be accepted for credit toward graduation, they will not necessarily fulfill specific concentration or minor requirements.

The UM Office of Undergraduate Admissions assigns general transfer credits from non-UM study-abroad programs. Credits earned on a UM study abroad program are assigned by the Office of International Programs. Once the study abroad credits appear on your UM transcript (available on Wolverine Access), an RLL advisor will be able to officially evaluate the credits for your concentration or minor requirements. A given course need not exactly match a course in our curriculum, but it must be sufficiently advanced to qualify for upper-level credit.
