first-year
handbook The intent of this handbook is to give you an overview of the College of Literature, Science, & the Arts (LS&A) and to help you have a successful first year at the University of Michigan. Some of the things we will cover in this handbook include: freshman orientation, registration, the high school to college transition, academic advising, degree requirements, LS&A rules and regulations, and the variety of resources available to you at UM. It is important to keep in mind that, although many topics are covered here, this handbook only summarizes data from the LS&A Bulletin, which is the official source of all LS&A policies. For more detailed information or for information not covered in this handbook consult the LS&A Bulletin or your academic advisor. * Note: The intended audience for this handbook is first year students in LS&A. All other UM students are encouraged to contact your respective college to find out how these issues and rules might affect you. |
