Latin
American and Caribbean Studies Academic Minor
An academic minor in Latin
American and Caribbean Studies is not open to students with a
concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Students
wishing to pursue an academic minor in Latin American and Caribbean
Studies must develop a specific plan for its completion in consultation
with the LACS Student Advisor. Appointments are scheduled
in the LACS office (763-0553 or lacs@umich.edu).
Prerequisites to the Academic
Minor: Spanish 232
or Portuguese 232.
Academic Minor Program: At least 15 credits in courses at
the 300-level and above on Latin America and the Caribbean, to
be chosen from among courses listed in the Latin American and
Caribbean Studies Concentration.
Constraints: Courses must be drawn from at least
three different departments, with not more than six credits in
any one department.
