Undergraduate Research Opportunities
Program (UROP)
West Quad Annex, L110
647-2768
The UROP program enables students to work outside the classroom with
a small group of students and a faculty member of their choosing. These
groups become research teams that work together for about 10 hours per week
during the course of the academic year. Each group investigates a topic
that is of interest to the group, and meets with other students in the program
for educational and social programs.
All first- and second-year undergraduates within the University of Michigan
are eligible to apply to UROP. Selections are made on a rolling basis and
are determined by the students' level of interest in doing research, commitment
to a project, evidence of academic preparedness, and by the availability
of positions.
