Lloyd Hall Scholars seminar in artistic media and their development in the context of the contemporary social order. This seminar often looks closely at more recent trends in the arts and at the development of new media of expression.

This course emphasizes argumentative writing and related skills that are needed for success in college work. Various themes are determined by the instructors who come from many different academic backgrounds. This course makes full use of the close living-learning environment of the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program.

This course supports and focuses the student's ability to navigate the first year journey by acquainting the student with the institution of the University of Michigan. From philosophical, educational, and historical frameworks, this introductory mini-course provides a solid base for beginning the transition from high school to college. All Lloyd Hall Scholars students are expected to enroll in this course. Course dates and times to be arranged.

This course combes active community service in Ann Arbor, analysis of that service in a seminar, and a focus on writing about that service. The course is required for sophomore members of the Lloyd Hall Scholars Program.
