Courses in Judaic Studies (Division 407)

331. Elementary Yiddish. (3). (FL).

This is the first term of a language sequence in Yiddish. No prior knowledge is required or expected. Students will be introduced to the Yiddish alphabet, grammar, and culture. We will work closely with the required text (Weinreich, COLLEGE YIDDISH), as well as supplementary reading material. Grades will be determined by exams, quizzes, and classroom participation.
