301. Ecological Issues. (4). (NS).
Lecture/discussion course for undergraduates throughout the University. No prerequisites. Designed to appeal to students with varying interests; reviews basic ecological principles and a series of "case studies" integrating ecological principles with economic, political, and social factors. Three lectures and one one-hour discussion per week. In the last half of the course, guest lecturers from a variety of disciplines will share their knowledge and insights on solving complex and diverse ecological issues. Readings will come primarily from the text and course pack. Students must integrate (1) lecture material, (2) discussion material, (3) a term project or paper, and (4) three exams. (Perfecto)
