Leiden's special English-language study abroad program offers courses in Dutch culture, government, European politics, administration, and global studies, including interdisciplinary studies on Southeast Asia. Students take specially designed courses at CIEE's Study Center at the Warsaw School of Economics, the oldest and largest economics university in Poland. Coursework includes: Polish language and four area studies classes. These will be offered in such fields as East and Central European politics, literature, history, and economics. The program, administered by the University of Wisconsin, begins with a summer of language training, in Madison, in either Nepali or Tibetan, for which students may earn up to 9 Michigan credits. During this period, UW faculty provide an in-depth orientation to South Asian cultures, and upon arrival in Nepal in late August, there is a further orientation session.
