201/ACABS 200/APTIS 200/HJCS 200. Introduction to World Religions: Near Eastern. (3). (HU).
This course is designed as an introduction to the major religious traditions in the "west." The class will focus on four major topics: (1) Common roots – the religion of ancient Israel and her contemporaries; (2) Judaism; (3) Christianity; and (4) Islam. Each topic will be given an historical overview coupled with a close examination of the major religious themes and practices of each tradition. Course requirements include class participation, two exams, and two short class assignments. (LaVallee)
