This lecture course describes phonological, syntactic, semantic, and pragmatic aspects of language development in normal children. Theoretical, historical, and contemporary viewpoints are presented. Student performance is evaluated by midterm and final examinations and a class project that involves collecting and scoring a spontaneous language sample.
