Winter Academic Term '02 Time Schedule for Museum Methods.
The University of Michigan offers through the facilities of the University Museums laboratory /discussion courses for students interested in natural science museum exhibits. The courses in museum methods are open to undergraduates concentrating in one of the many subject areas encountered in natural history museums. These courses focus not on the subject matter of natural history fields, but rather on the principles, methods, and techniques used by professional exhibit designers.
MUSMETH 406 / MEDILLUS 406. Special Problems in Museum Methods.
Section 001 – (3 credits).
Instructor(s): John B Klausmeyer
Prerequisites & Distribution: Permission of instructor. (2-4). (Excl). $45 laboratory fee. May be elected for credit twice.
Credits: (2-4).
Lab Fee: $45 laboratory fee.

Required Projects: Cast of fruit (wax), trilobite (plaster), herpetology cast (latex), cast of hand (alginate), exhibit design project. There is a lecture each week, and a midterm and final on material covered in lab and lectures.
