Learn/apply principles of effective leading. Reinforce self-confidence through participation in physically and mentally channeling exercises with upper division ROTC students. Develop communication skills to improve individual performance and group interaction. Relate organizational ethical values to the effectiveness of a leader. One hour and a required leadership lab plus participation in a one hour session for physical fitness. Participation in a weekend exercise is optional, but highly encouraged.

History of the Military Art examines contemporary U.S. Army operational doctrine by explaining the fundamental principles of war that comprise the permanent elements of military science and strategy. The importance of these principles is illustrated through a detailed study of certain historical campaigns and their relation to current operations. Students are expected to contribute to classroom discussions and master the significant details of major campaigns.
