A Letter from the Chair
My favorite time of year is always April: graduation time. It is a powerful reminder of how meaningful it is to teach at the university. I witness these students arrive in the lower level classes and grow with every semester, as they learn their production chops and confront more than a century of screen media from around the world. And we see that progress charted out in the Lightworks screenings at the end of the each semester. Then I watch the seniors march out into the world, and I can't wait to see what they make out there. I love this job!
We do our best to educate our students, but as you can imagine we are also one of the most capital intensive departments on campus. Descriptions of some of our department needs and areas where we are seeking support can be found by clicking on Giving to Screen Arts. A gift is truly meaningful and helps us reach the high bar we've set for ourselves.
