The Screen Studies mission is to advance the knowledge and understanding of all forms of the moving image media, from film, television, and video to emergent digital forms. Screen Studies faculty bring a high level of scholarly and teaching expertise to the study of national cinema and television in particular--currently that includes African, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin American, Slavic, South African--and courses stress the importance of understanding international or global contexts. The Screen Studies curriculum is based on the premise that a broadly based education in the moving image gives our graduate an advantages an advantage when entering their chosen profession, the film industry, or graduate school.
