The Sidney J. Winer Scholarship Award for Internship Support
Mrs. Melba Winer and Winer scholarship recipients
The Sidney J. Winer Scholarship award was endowed by Mrs. Melba Winer in 1993 and named after her beloved husband, a University of Michigan alumnus, and was created to give a Screen Arts & Cultures' student real professional perspective in a very complicated and demanding Film & TV industry. Each summer, SAC students gain valuable internship experience at top entertainment companies.
"The Winer family's generousity demonstrates to young SAC Film & TV hopefuls that people's willingness to help is a virtue in which we can believe; that we know real genersity exists makes our pursuit all the more bearable. Someday when we have the good fortune to help others, we can follow in the Winer Family's example. I know I will." -Mitchell Akselrad, SAC Alumnus
