Faculty Director (2010-2011)
Dr. Charles Bright, Professor of History and Director, Residential College
--A longtime history professor at the University of Michigan in the Residential College, Dr. Bright has been the Director of the Residential College since 2005 and was one of the two founding Faculty Co-Directors of the Semester in Detroit Program (Dr. Margaret Dewar of the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning was the other founding Faculty Co-Director). Among other areas, Dr. Bright specializes in Detroit, prisons, American politics, and globalization. He will retire as Director of the Residential College in July 2011 but will remain as a faculty member of the RC's Department of Social Theory and Practice.
