Life @ Wayne State
As a Semester in Detroit student, you’ll not only be a part of the University of Michigan, but also a part of Wayne State University’s dynamic community. With your WSU OneCard, you’ll have access to Wayne State’s facilities, like their state-of-the-art recreation center (with a 30-foot rock climbing wall), campus clinic, library, and all the perks of being a student in the community at large, including discounted admission to the Detroit Institute of Arts and more. Past SiD students have been involved in intramural sports and other campus activities. For a map of Wayne State’s campus, click here.
Among the housing options available to Semester in Detroit students are the Towers Residential Suites, an 11-story modern dormitory in the heart of campus, and University Tower, an 11-story apartment complex just south of the main campus. Some of the amenities included with both buildings are free wi-fi, laundry facilities and 24-hour reception desks. The Towers Residential Suites building also contains multiple fitness areas, cafés, a bookstore and salon. To live in the Towers Residential Suites (or any other dormitory on WSU’s campus), you must purchase a meal plan; this is not required of students living in apartments (like University Tower).
