Applying to Become a Community Partner

Program Eligibility:
In order to be considered for this program, your organization must meet the following minimal requirements:
1)  Have 501(c)3 non-profit status; (Note: we will consider applications from independent, small businesses.)
2) Employ at least one full-time equivalent, paid staff member who can provide professional, consistent supervisory oversight of student intern;
3) Have a formal office location based within the city limits of Detroit; (Note: exceptions can be made IF the proposed project focuses on work solely in the city of Detroit AND the student's work-site location is within the Detroit city limits. Please call to discuss before completing application.)

 

Winter 2012 Program (Jan.-April)

We received over 45 applications for student interns from community partners for the winter 2012 semester.  The application period is now closed.  Note: Organizations who applied for the winter program but did not receive a student intern will remain eligible for the spring program.  
Spring 2012 Program (May 7 - June 29)
If your organization is interested in hosting a student intern AND has not already submitted an application for the winter program, please send an email to Craig Regester, SID Associate Director.  The new deadline to submit a project application is Friday, January 27, 2012.
