We are on central campus, immediately adjacent to the Bell Tower and Hill Auditorium.  The Department is on the third floor of the Modern Languages Building.  Stairs are located in each corner of the building; the only elevator is on the south end, closest to Hill Auditorium.

From the West via I-94:
Get off at exit 177 (State Street -- it may say "State Road," but it's really State Street). Turn LEFT out of the exit. You are now going north on State Street, toward downtown Ann Arbor. As you approach the campus area, you will pass the Michigan Union on the left. Keep driving until you see East Washington, and turn RIGHT on East Washington. The Modern Languages Building is on the right at the corner of East Washington and Thayer.

From the East via I-94:
Get off at exit 177 (State Street -- it may say "State Road", but it's really State Street). Turn RIGHT out of the exit. You are now going north on State Street, toward downtown Ann Arbor. As you approach the campus area, you will pass the Michigan Union on the left. Keep driving until you see East Washington, and turn RIGHT on East Washington. The Modern Languages Building is on the right at the corner of East Washington and Thayer.

From the East via M-14:
Take M-14 West until it merges with US-23 North. After a few miles, get off at exit 45, which puts you onto M-14 West to Ann Arbor (also called Business 23). Take exit 3 of M-14 (toward downtown Ann Arbor). It will dump you onto Main Street going south toward downtown without you having to turn. Pass Summit Street, Ann Street, and Huron Street. Turn LEFT on East Washington. Pass Division Street and State Street. The Modern Languages Building is on the right at the corner of East Washington and Thayer.

From the North via US-23:
Get off at exit 37B (toward Ann Arbor). It will dump you onto Washtenaw Avenue going west without you having to turn. Pass Huron Parkway. When the road divides into Stadium and Washtenaw, follow the far right fork, which is Washtenaw. Pass Hill Street and South University. The road will then curve left and turn into Huron. Turn LEFT on Fletcher and RIGHT on East Washington. The Modern Languages Building is on the left at the corner of East Washington and Thayer.

From South via US-23:
Get off at exit 45, which puts you onto M-14 West to Ann Arbor (also called Business 23). Take exit 3 of M-14 (toward downtown Ann Arbor). It will dump you onto Main Street going south toward downtown without you having to turn. Pass Summit Street, Ann Street, and Huron Street. Turn LEFT on East Washington. Pass Division Street and State Street. The Modern Languages Building is on the right at the corner of East Washington and Thayer.
