A. - ać type verbs
In
this group of verbs, the final consonant of the verb stem
alters in a predictable way (eg. s>sz,
k>cz) These verbs first drop the -ać ending from the infinitive and the final consonant of the
stem undergoes an alternation (or mutation).

B. -ąć type verbs
These verbs drop the -ąć ending from the infinitive. There is an alternation of hard consonants to soft consonants in all conjugated forms of these verbs except for the 1st person singular and the 3rd person plural forms.
