Verb Conjugation: -ę, -isz/-ysz
Group 2: Verbs with infinitive stem ending in a soft consonant

The –eć or –ić ending is removed and the verb endings are added to the stem.

NOTE: There is an alternation of soft consonants to hard consonants in this group. This alternation occurs ONLY in the 1st person singular and the 3rd person plural forms. Details on this alternation are provided for each verb individually.

prosić (to ask for, request)
si > sz

1. (ja) prosz
2. (ty) pros -isz
3. on pros -i

1. (my) pros -imy
2. (wy) pros -icie
3. oni prosz

Other verbs of this type are:

  chodzić (dzi > dz) jeździć (ździ > żdż) lecieć (ci >c)
