Verb Conjugation: -ę, -isz/-ysz

Verbs that have the vowels -e- or -i-/-y- before the ending -ć belong to the -ę/-isz, -ysz conjugation. Also included in this category are three verbs with -a- before the ending: spać (to sleep), bać się (to be afraid), and stać (to stand). For our purposes, the -ę/-isz, -ysz conjugation consists of 4 subgroups.

Group 1:

-eć & -yć verbs with infinitive stem ending in a hardened consonant

Group 2:

Verbs with infinitive stem ending in a soft consonant

Group 3:

Basic -ę, -isz/-ysz endings
The basic endings are as follows:

1. (ja)
2. (ty) -isz/-ysz
3. on -i/-y

1. (my) -imy/-ymy
2. (wy) -icie/-ycie
3. oni
