Halfway through her career as a psychology major, Jodi accidentally stumbled into a class on Polish literature and became instantly (and hopelessly) obsessed. Two years later, she was residing in Kraków and learning Polish. Her research interests are diverse, but her focus is primarily on contemporary queer Polish literature. She is currently interested in contemporary lesbian fiction as a method of queer historiography and its subsequent implications for community building. She is also fascinated by complex interplay between European identification, nationalism, and non-heteronormativity in post-socialist spaces/times. She has a highly unhealthy relationship to caffeine, and enjoys playing guitar and watching Disney movies in her spare time. She received a BS in Psychology from the University of Florida where she also minored in English and East-Central European Studies.
