The SLC Study Group Program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in introductory science courses to meet on a weekly basis with a group of 8-12 peers to review course material, solve problems, and gain an understanding of course concepts. Study Groups are facilitated by Peer Leaders who have already successfully completed the course and are trained in facilitation techniques.
Study Groups provide a dynamic opportunity to study and interact with peers. The meetings are designed to involve all group members and are not meant to be tutoring sessions or review sessions led solely by the Leader. Leaders use facilitation techniques to engage the members, encouraging them to teach and learn from each other. Study Group membership is voluntary, but members are required to attend regularly and participate actively.
