Faculty by Research Interest

Michigan Sociology faculty members are actively pursuing the answers to significant theoretical and practical problems facing the discipline and beyond. Our faculty employ a broad range of methodological approaches to understand social phenomena in these several key research areas that map onto our graduate training:

Each of these areas includes faculty who have interests and expertise in societies outside the U.S.

Undergraduate students may work with faculty as research assistants in the Sociology Undergraduate Research Opportunity (SURO) program. Graduate students take advantage of research practica, to conduct original research under close faculty direction.
