  • About

I am interested in Sociological Theory, Urban Sociology, Sociology of Culture, and Comparative and Historical Sociology. In my MA dissertation I investigated the theoretical problems of eurocentrism and the discourses on modernity in peripheral societies (Brazil, in particular), from a Marxist and Post-Colonial perspective. I am currently interested in studying the articulation of urban space, culture and political struggle. I also plan to study the international circulation of ideas in the areas of Architecture and Urbanism, both understood as contested forms of knowledge and power.
