  • About

I am a PhD candidate in Sociology at the University of Michigan. I am interested in Social Theory, Cultural and Historical Sociology, Critical Urban Studies, and Philosophy of Social Sciences.  In my current dissertation project, I propose a material semiotics of practices of architecture and construction, in order to extend Bourdieu’s field analysis toward problems of semiosis and materiality. This theoretical framework informs my study of the politics of low-income housing in São Paulo (1960-1995).
