  • About

Research Focus:  I am broadly interested in mental health and use a mixed methods approach to investigate racial/ethnic disparities in this area.  I am particularly interested in help-seeking and service utilization for mental illness among underserved populations as well as interventions targeted at combating stigma and increasing service utilization in these communities.    Publications:   Himle, J.A., Baser, R.E., Taylor, R.J., Campbell, R.D., & Jackson, J.S. (2009). Anxiety disorders among African Americans, blacks of Caribbean descent, and non-Hispanic whites in the United States. Journal of Anxiety Disorders, 23(5), 578-590.
