  • About

Generally, my research examines the spatial dynamics of inequality. I work on the Michigan Prisoner Reentry Project, studying the residential movement of Michigan parolees prior to incarceration and after release. In a collaborative research project with Prof. Martin Murray, we study the changing spatial dynamics and increasing privatization of Johannesburg, SA after apartheid. My dissertation research examines the "non-legal" use of vacant and abandoned property in Detroit through activities such as squatting and scrapping.

Outside of school, I'm a die-hard west coaster who misses the mountains. I live with my partner, our daughter, and our two dogs.
