"I am a PhD candidate in Public Policy and Sociology. I recently
completed a project examining contention over seed patents in Canada
and the relationship to transnational activism. I am now studying the
politics of (re)localizing food through a comparison of Detroit and
Cleveland. My research generally examines political contention, the
politics of knowledge and expertise, and democratic engagement in
policy-making vis-a-vis the environment and food and agriculture, in
particular. I utilize comparative-historical and qualitative methods
in my analyses."
