    Bridget Lavelle is a PhD Candidate in Public Policy and Sociology. She has a B.A. in Mathematics and Sociology from Grinnell College (2004), an M.S. in Statistics from Iowa State University (2008), and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Michigan (2010). Prior to her graduate studies, she worked as a research analyst in Early Childhood Education at Child Trends in Washington, DC. While studying statistics at Iowa State University, Bridget worked for the Center for Survey Statistics and Methodology and the Institute for Social and Behavioral Research. At the University of Michigan, Bridget is a Trainee at the Population Studies Center and a student at the National Poverty Center. Her broad research interests relate to economic stresses on families and family and child well-being. Supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, her dissertation focuses on the impact of economic and demographic shocks across the life course on health insurance coverage in the United States.
