  • About

I am pursuing a joint PhD in Sociology and Public Policy. My academic explorations consider how the meeting of traditional ways and 'modernity' combine to shape individual and collective identity, public policy, social movements, and more. I focus on conflicts that arise when privatization is targeted at traditionally public/common goods (water, knowledge) and the strategies employed by indigenous peoples, grassroots organizations, local governments, and international institutions in the face of these clashes. I utilize comparative-historical and qualitative methods to explore these issues.
