  My research is in the areas of neighborhood effects and urban poverty, group conflict and racial attitudes, class structure and income inequality, and methods of causal inference in observational research. My dissertation examines the link between class structure, defined in terms of property and authority relations in production, and growing aggregate income inequality in America since the early 1980s. I’m also currently working on several projects dealing with the impact of neighborhood poverty on child development and the association between education, cognitive ability, and racial attitudes.
