Concentration Requirements
Michigan’s undergraduate program allows for flexibility in course selection,
enabling you to create a personalized program that matches your academic and
career interests. Our concentration requirements give you a foundation in fundamental
sociological theory, principles, practices and methodology, while allowing you
to focus on a specific discipline that inspires you.
You can explore an interdisciplinary concentration in social
anthropology, an honors program that
leads to an original thesis, or choose from one of six sub-concentrations
for further academic focus.
Academic advisors are available to discuss with you the choice of sociology
as a concentration, help select a sub-concentration, assist in selecting required
courses and complete a senior audit. Please schedule an advising appointment here: Online Advising Appointment Scheduling System
