I took a course that transfers as a SOC course.

I took (or will take) a course that transfers to U-M as SOC credit. How do I make sure it will count for my sociology concentration?

If the course you took is already appearing on your transcript or has already been evaluated by the U-M Credit Evaluators as a specific SOC course number (e.g. SOC 344) or as general SOC departmental credit (e.g. SOC 201X, or some similar variation) at the 200 level or above, you do not need to do anything; the course will automatically be counted as an elective concentration credit.

Remember, a maximum of 15 transfer credits  may be counted toward the concentration, subject to departmental approval. The College of LSA has more specific rules about the number of credit hours that may be transferred toward the bachelor’s degree. See the LSA Bulletin for details.
