  • About

    Yu Xie studies social stratification and social mobility, statistical methods and demographic techniques, and the sociology of science. He teaches courses in methods and statistics for social scientists, both at UM and at the UM-Beijing University Joint Institute in China. Much of his current work is in collaboration with Chinese scholars, with whom he designed the China Family Panel Studies, a nation-wide longitudinal survey of Chinese families, and is currently involved in numerous projects analyzing the data from this survey.
